1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Paperclip services are operated by Paperclip Holdings LLC, an Idaho limited liability company. These terms cover our mining pool, operator-hosted Ark and Lightning services, public node and Electrum interfaces, websites, signet explorer and faucet, and experimental services that link here. They do not govern independently operated deployments of our open-source software. Contact us at contact@paperclippool.xyz. Paperclip’s official domains are paperclippool.xyz and paperclip-xbt.xyz, including the service subdomains operated by Paperclip Holdings LLC. The same terms and privacy notice apply when you access our services through either domain.

2. Using Paperclip

By using a covered service after these terms are made available, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, do not start new activity. Stopping use does not remove your responsibility to complete any necessary recovery of existing funds. You must be legally able to enter this agreement, use only funds and equipment you are authorized to use, and comply with applicable law. These services are intended for adults.

3. Experimental software and your responsibilities

Experimental and beta services can fail, including through software bugs, compromised systems, network changes or recovery mistakes. Funds may be permanently lost. Use only amounts you are willing to lose for testing. Verify the network, destination, invoice, software compatibility and total cost before proceeding: similar names or address formats do not establish compatibility. Protect your keys and full wallet backups, keep required recovery data, and allow time and funds for transaction fees and protocol deadlines. Never send us a seed phrase, private key or administrator credential in a support request.

4. Mining, TIDES and community incentives

The pool allocates block rewards using accepted, difficulty-weighted work in its rolling TIDES window. Your current hashrate percentage can differ from your reward percentage; finding a block does not reset the window. Rejected work, stale work and orphaned blocks may not earn rewards. Block discovery, future earnings and payout timing are not guaranteed. Coinbase maturity, confirmations, relay policy and network conditions can delay spending or settlement. See the pool payout page for current fees, eligibility, incentive rules and maturity information. DATUM incentives and the Community Bounty depend on available funds and the applicable distribution rules; they are not a promised yield. Community contributions support those distributions and do not purchase an ownership interest or guarantee a return. Contact us about mistaken contributions; on-chain transfers may not be reversible.

5. How funds and recovery differ by service

There is no blanket non-custodial guarantee across Paperclip. Direct mining rewards are paid to the configured address, while incentive, bounty and settlement funds may remain in operator-managed wallets before distribution. A self-custody Ark wallet still depends on protocol assumptions, complete recovery data, timelocks, monitoring and fee funding; an independent exit is not a promise of unlimited offline safety. Lightning payments and channels depend on compatible peers, liquidity, routing, confirmations and channel-close rules. We cannot generally reverse confirmed transactions or restore lost user keys. A status page or successful connection is not a safety guarantee.

6. Fees, quotes and support

Review the service-specific quote and total debit before authorizing an operation. Service charges, miner fees and recovery allocations are different costs. A failed operation can still incur on-chain or recovery costs; eligible reimbursements are governed by the published rules for that service and any specific agreement. Contact us with a transaction ID or order reference if a charge or outcome appears wrong. Changes to published fees apply prospectively and do not override an already accepted quote or remove an existing payment obligation.

7. Availability, acceptable use and test networks

We may maintain, update, rate-limit or suspend services to address outages, security issues, abuse or legal requirements. Do not attempt unauthorized access, deliberately disrupt services, evade faucet limits or misrepresent transactions or mining work. Contact us privately about suspected vulnerabilities. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or confirmation before a deadline; keep independent recovery information where the protocol supports it. Signet coins are for testing, have no promised monetary value and are not redeemable for mainnet coins. Test networks may change, reset or stop.

8. Software, limitations and your legal rights

Software remains subject to its applicable open-source license; these service terms do not take away rights granted by that license. Third-party wallets, nodes and linked sites have their own operators and terms. To the extent permitted by law, services are provided as available and without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose or error-free results. Paperclip is not liable for indirect or consequential losses to the extent such a limitation is lawful. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, waives mandatory consumer rights, or excuses an obligation to account for or distribute funds owed to users. No mining return or investment result is promised, and site information is not individualized financial, tax or legal advice.

9. Changes and questions

We will date revised terms and post material service changes through the affected service where reasonably practicable. Changes apply prospectively, subject to applicable notice and consent requirements; posting a change does not by itself rewrite existing transactions. Idaho law governs these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law, without displacing mandatory rights that apply where you live.
